According to the current state of affairs, the holiday airline Edelweiss will serve 2023 destinations in 21 countries in the 15 summer flight schedule. Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Cancún and Havana are offered non-stop in both directions during the peak tourist season. Expansion is in particular towards the USA, Canada and Costa Rica.
The connection to Denver is now being increased by one weekly frequency to up to three, and Vancouver is now even being served up to four times a week. The number of flights to Costa Rica will also be increased: San José will now be served three times a week. Liberia (Guanacaste) is served with two weekly flights in connection with San José.
During the peak travel season, Edelweiss Air intends to serve the Caribbean destinations of Havana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana and Cancún in both directions without stopovers. However, the number of weekly flights remains unchanged. Montego Bay in Jamaica gets exposed over the summer peak. During the spring and fall holidays, Montego Bay is served by a weekly direct flight, each time with a stopover in the Dominican Republic.
The Maldives will be served with a weekly frequency on Saturdays in the summer of 2023. There are additional flights in spring and from the autumn holidays. As was the case this year, Edelweiss will serve Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania with two weekly flights from the summer holidays next summer.
The holiday destinations of Muscat in Oman as well as Mauritius and the Seychelles continue to be an integral part of the autumn programme. Mauritius and the Seychelles are also served in spring, but not over the summer months. Flights will be served to Cape Town from the beginning of September next year and to Phuket in time for the start of the autumn holidays.
Las Vegas will be served up to three times a week in the summer of 2023. The flight schedule to Calgary remains unchanged at two weekly frequencies. Tampa Bay (Florida) will continue to be served twice a week in the summer schedule. Flights will begin as early as February 17, 2023, initially with a weekly flight.
In addition to the expansion of its own long-haul network and due to the high capacity requirements on the North American routes, Edelweiss will operate the Zurich – Montreal route four to five times a week on behalf of Swiss from May to October 2023.
