The demand for holidays in the Austrian lake areas is increasing: This is also shown by the number of hits on the Tui Austria website. Bookings in Austria increased last year.

“There is particularly high demand for accommodations directly on the lakes and they sell out quickly,” says David Szabo, Head of Operations at TUI Austria. "For families we also have some nice accommodations in the program, where children can stay for free and use what the house has to offer," continues Szabo. Cancellation options up to 18 p.m. on the day of arrival make vacation planning more flexible.

This development does not come as a surprise, because despite advanced vaccination campaigns, the infection rate remains at a high level worldwide. And so travel restrictions will remain in place for the time being, and easing steps will only be taken cautiously. In Germany, the government even wanted to ban foreign travel altogether for a short time - but plans to that effect were then thrown overboard after a legal assessment.
