In summer 2021, the Lufthansa Group will focus on tourist travel destinations. The focus is on destinations in the Caribbean, the Canary Islands and Greece. The group anticipates strong demand in this segment.

According to its own information, the hot water supply in summer 2021 will be more extensive than ever before in the history of the Lufthansa Group. From Frankfurt am Main, around 20 additional holiday destinations are to be added step by step. 13 new hot water destinations have been announced for Munich.

In a media release, the Kranich Group writes that based on effective vaccines, tests and hygiene concepts, it is assumed that the conditions for summer holidays in 2021 are “good”. Therefore, one is preparing for a strong demand in the area of tourist destinations. However, Lufthansa has already informed the sales partners that the offer will be less than originally planned.

“Our tourist program for summer 2021 is stronger than ever before. We assume that many countries will loosen travel restrictions in the summer after more and more people have been vaccinated. We know that demand rises sharply as soon as travel restrictions fall - and we are well prepared for this with our excellent range. There is a great longing for vacation - the catch-up effect will be correspondingly strong in the summer, ”said Harry Hohmeister, member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

Also new from Frankfurt are Cyprus (Paphos), Croatia (Rijeka), Italy (Lamezia Terme), Tunisia (Djerba), Ponta Delgada (Azores / Portugal) and Bulgaria (Varna). From Munich it goes for the first time to Jerez (Spain) and to the Greek destinations Chania, Mykonos, Kos, Kavalla, Zakynthos and Preveza. Hurghada in Egypt is also new for the summer.
