On Thursday, the Stralsund District Court decided that Sundair would retain self-administration in the protective shield proceedings. The carrier announced that the salaries of the approximately 240 employees will be paid on their own. Lucas Flöther, who has already held this position at Air Berlin and Condor, will remain the administrator.

Due to the corona crisis, the airline wants to use the Protective shield proceedings reposition. According to managing director Marcos Rossello, an agreement was reached with the owners of the aircraft. The carrier exchanges these for other machines, reported Aviation Direct.

“We are currently in the process of fleeting three new A319s, we are parting with two A320 and two A319. The fleet will therefore consist of six aircraft in the future, ”CEO Marcos Rossello is quoted as saying in a press release. This reduces the fleet by one machine.

Negotiations have already taken place with the creditors and they have approved the draft restructuring plan that has been worked out. The company also announced that the document will shortly be submitted to the court and creditors for formal approval. The creditors' meeting must then vote.
