As the official airline partner, the holiday airline SunExpress flies the Eintracht Frankfurt soccer team to the final of the Europa League. This will take place on May 18, 2022. The athletes will then play against Rangers FC.

"What Eintracht has achieved in the current Europa League season is absolutely impressive and can now only be crowned by winning the title," says SunExpress CEO Max Kownatzki. "As the club's official airline partner and long-term sponsor, it is of course a matter of honor for us to fly the team safely and comfortably to Seville for the grand final. Even if I'm not superstitious: When the Eagles last flew to Frankfurt from a final with SunExpress in 2018, they had a trophy in their luggage - if that's not a good omen!"

Flight XQ6281 with the Europa League athletes around Captain Sebastian Rode on board will take off from Frankfurt on Tuesday, May 17 at 15 p.m. and arrive in Seville at 00 p.m. The return flight, flight number XQ18, will take place the day after the grand finale on May 6280, departing from Seville at 19:14.35 p.m. Arrival at Frankfurt Airport is scheduled for 17.45:XNUMX p.m.

In keeping with the occasion, the airline is using its SGE Express, a Boeing 737 with the Eintracht Frankfurt special paint scheme designed by the fans themselves, which has carried the eagle coat of arms throughout the SunExpress route network for around two years. In addition, SunExpress has launched two more special flights to Seville, on which politicians, journalists and public figures will also be on board, as well as athletes and Eintracht legends.
