At Hamburg Airport there will be a change in the security company commissioned with the implementation on February 1, 2022. The Fraport subsidiary FraSec will then take over the passenger and baggage checks.

As is customary in Germany, the client is not the airport, but the Federal Police, represented by the procurement office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. In the context of a tender, FraSec prevailed and was awarded the contract.

Subject to antitrust approval, Fraport will withdraw from the Separate majority in this subsidiary. The background to this is that in future Frankfurt am Main will be the Will carry out security checks on its own. However, official requirements forbid it to award the contract to a wholly-owned subsidiary. Therefore, you get a partner.
