In cooperation with Ricardo, Swiss is auctioning off Economy Class seats that are no longer needed as part of the introduction of the new Premium Economy Class. The carrier donates the proceeds to the charitable foundation Pigna, one of its long-standing partner organizations.

Due to the introduction of its new Premium Economy Class, the Lufthansa subsidiary is gradually replacing some of the Economy Class seats in its Boeing 777-300ER fleet with the new seating. In cooperation with the internet auction house Ricardo, surplus economy class three-seater seats including attractive additional prices will be auctioned off to the highest bidder over the next four weeks. Seats are personalized with a name badge upon purchase. All proceeds from this auction are donated by the Swiss airline to the Pigna Foundation in Kloten. The long-standing partner organization of Swiss offers people with disabilities an appropriate living, working and living space with needs-based and needs-oriented support.
