In view of relaxed entry regulations, Swiss will resume its passenger flights to Shanghai on March 3, 2023. A weekly flight is initially planned for March. From April, the Swiss carrier will expand the program and offer three flights a week.

The airline generally uses Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route, alternatively Airbus A340-300. “We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers flights between Zurich and the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai again in the future. For both business locations and beyond, it is of great importance to serve the increasing demand. Shanghai continues to be a key destination and origin in the flight schedule,” said Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Swiss Chief Commercial Officer.

The airline had not operated any regular passenger flights to Shanghai since April 2022 as a result of the travel restrictions associated with the corona pandemic and had only transported freight on the route. In addition to the resumed flights to Shanghai, Swiss is increasing the frequency to Hong Kong from five to six weekly departures in the summer flight schedule.
