From December 2, 2021, Swiss plans to fly between Zurich and Beirut. The new addition should initially be served on Thursday and Sunday. The main target group are people who want to visit friends and relatives.

“As an airline in Switzerland, it is our goal to offer our passengers a route network that is as tailored to their needs as possible. We are proud to be able to connect the Lebanese capital directly with Switzerland and our hub in Zurich for the first time in the history of SWISS. We hope that this will also help the city to rebuild and look forward to bringing people and cultures together, ”said Swiss-CCO Tamur Goudarzi Pour.

Initially, Edelweiss Air will fly on behalf of Swiss between December 2021 and mid-January 2022. An aircraft of the type Airbus A320 is used, which offers space for 174 passengers. From mid-January to the end of March 2022, Swiss will operate the flight itself. The flight time to Beirut is around four hours.
