Swissport expands in Saudi Arabia

Advertising

Ground handling company Swissport is significantly expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and will operate at seven additional airports in the Kingdom starting June 1, 2025. This strategic expansion brings Swissport's network in Saudi Arabia to a total of 13 airports. The new locations include Hail, Al Jouf, Tabuk, Yanbu, Taif, Abha, and Jizan.

Swissport was already present at Saudi Arabia's six main airports: Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, Dammam, Al-Qassim, and Al-Ula. With the addition of the seven new locations, the company now covers an even broader geographical range of Saudi Arabia's air traffic. Swissport plans to initially offer passenger and ramp handling services at the new airports.

In addition, the company is exploring the introduction of additional services at these new locations, including cargo handling, aircraft cleaning, and airport lounge operations. This gradual expansion of its service offering is intended to enable Swissport to further consolidate its position as one of the leading ground handling providers in Saudi Arabia.

Swissport's expansion in Saudi Arabia comes at a time when the Kingdom is massively expanding its air transport infrastructure and tourism appeal as part of its "Vision 2030." The increased presence of an experienced ground handling company like Swissport is expected to contribute to increased efficiency and improved quality at the affected airports.
