The airline Swiss has been able to operate passenger flights to the United Kingdom and South Africa from Geneva and Zurich again since December 24, 2020 (midnight). The Federal Office for Civil Aviation does, however, impose conditions.

Swiss may transport all passengers from Switzerland to the two countries, provided that this is not opposed by any restrictions imposed by the United Kingdom or South Africa. On the return flights, only people with citizenship of Liechtenstein and Switzerland as well as people who can show certain residence permits from both countries are temporarily allowed to fly. The destinations affected are Johannesburg, London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester. How long the measure ordered by the Bazl will last is still open. Numerous states, including Austria, issued landing bans for passenger flights that took off in the United Kingdom. Some other countries also for South Africa.
