Lufthansa nominated a representative for the Swiss Aviation Foundation, which was set up as part of state aid for Swiss and Edelweiss. Antonio Schuthess, who was most recently on the executive board at Lufthansa Technik, will take on a mandate at the foundation. The committee is expected to start work in the next few weeks.

The government of the Swiss Confederation appointed former National Councilor Brigitta M. Gadient as President of the Foundation. Other federal representatives are Peter Müller, formerly head of the civil aviation authority Bazl, and Lino Guzello, formerly rector of the ETH Zurich. The outgoing CEO Thomas Klühr will join the board for Swiss.

One of the conditions for issuing the federal loan guarantee in Switzerland to Swiss and Edelweiss was the establishment of an aviation foundation. One of your tasks will be to ensure compliance with the site agreement at the Swiss hub in Zurich.

Antonio Schulthess is Swiss. Over the past 17 years, he has held various management positions within the Lufthansa Group, including as Head of Human Resources at Swiss and Lufthansa Airlines. He will remain on the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik AG until the end of the year.
