The Latvian airline Air Baltic is making some changes to the offer from the Finnish base Tampere in the winter flight schedule 2022/23. Among other things, flights to Frankfurt am Main and Oslo are not offered during the cold season.

The carrier opened in May 2022 a base in Tampere, Finland. It is the first independent commercial base outside the Baltic States. Airbus A220-300 aircraft are stationed on site. Occasionally, wet lease aircraft from other operators are also used.

The flights to Frankfurt am Main, which were previously operated three times a week, will not be offered in the 2022/23 winter timetable. The same applies to the Oslo route. It is currently planned that these should be reactivated at the beginning of the 2023 summer period. Frequencies on the Amsterdam route will be increased. This is to be served daily by October 30, 2022.

The Tampere-Munich route is not affected by the temporary suspension of Frankfurt flights. In the direction of Bavaria, three rotations per week will continue to be offered. Air Baltic is also planning to offer the destinations Copenhagen, Malaga and Riga from Tampere. Flight times are subject to change on these three routes. Air Baltic will reduce the connection to the Latvian capital to five weekly rotations between January 11, 2023 and March 7, 2023.
