The Romanian airline Tarom will discontinue the non-stop connection between Bucharest and Vienna effective October 28, 2022. This route is already being served to a greatly reduced extent.
It is currently completely open whether Tarom will include the Austrian capital in the route network again in the future. A spokesman only confirmed that Barcelona will also be discontinued in addition to Vienna, but a decision has not yet been made on a possible resumption. Neither of these destinations can currently be booked in the 2023 summer flight schedule.
In the upcoming 2022/23 winter period, three airlines will operate between the capitals of Austria and Romania. These are Austrian Airlines, which offers three daily connections, Wizz Air with three rotations per week and Ryanair with six weekly rotations.
