Have a coffee and book a cruise on the ocean at the same time. This will no longer be possible at Tchibo in the future, because they are withdrawing from the sale of these products. River cruises will continue to be marketed.

According to the announcement, customers who have booked ocean cruises through Tchibo in the past should not be affected. Their travel documents remain valid. Only new business was given up.

Incidentally, the decision is based on environmental protection. Ocean cruises, which are considered to be particularly harmful to the environment, can no longer be reconciled with efforts as a sustainable trader. In principle, however, the move is not a surprise, because it has been apparent for some time that Tchibo wants to withdraw from this segment.

One was never active as a shipping company or organizer, but brokered within the framework of a travel agency concession. In future they only want to have river cruises in their portfolio. In general, the effects are likely to be kept within narrow limits, because due to the corona pandemic, the demand for ocean cruises was rather low.
