Thai Airways is reducing around half of its workforce at its Zurich location. All areas in which local employees have been held up are affected. The general manager is also no longer working for the carrier, but the branch is now managed directly from Thailand.
The responsible area manager confirmed to Travel Inside that eight people had been given notice. This is directly related to the reduction in Switzerland flights. One regrets having to take this step.
According to the report, Thai Airways still has 12 employees in Switzerland. Six salesmen, two accountants, two at the airport and two in the cargo area. The city office was closed in March, so that the employees have to work almost exclusively in the home office.
