Thailand wants to shorten the mandatory quarantine period for vaccinated travelers - from 14 to 7 days.
The country from Southeast Asia is toying with introducing relaxation for people who have already taken the CoV vaccine. The new regulation could come into force as early as next month, but the cabinet still has to give its approval. This is what it says in the online edition of Rheinische Post.
For travelers from African countries, however, nothing should change - in all likelihood they will have to continue to spend the full time in isolation. After all, people who have not been vaccinated also get concessions. The prescribed isolation time could soon be reduced to ten days.
Further easing is possible in October, when at least 70 percent of health workers and employees in the tourism industry are vaccinated. Thailand's tourism industry, which makes up ten percent of the economy of the Southeast Asian country, has been on the ground for a year because of the corona pandemic.
