Tourists will no longer need a corona test to enter Thailand: the requirement to take a PCR test within 72 hours before departure will no longer apply from April 1st.

Vacationers will then only be tested upon arrival in Thailand. Visitors can enter with or without quarantine depending on vaccination status and country of departure. This is reported by the Swiss travel portal About Travel. The updated simplified rules are as follows: 

Test and Go: No Quarantine - Fully vaccinated travelers arriving by air from any country can enter without quarantine. Travelers only need to undergo a PCR test (Day 0) when they arrive at their SHA+ or ASQ hotel and receive a negative result. After receiving a negative test result, travelers are allowed to travel to other parts of the country. 

On day 5, a self-test is performed using an antigen test kit and the test result is reported on the Mor Chana mobile app. 

Sandbox program: Will be reduced from the current 7 nights to 5 nights. After five nights in the sandbox destinations (Pattaya, Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, Samui, Koh Phang Ngan or Koh Tao), travelers are allowed to travel within the country. 

Alternative quarantine program: For partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers, quarantine will be reduced from the current 10 nights at a designated quarantine hotel in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Pattaya, Phuket or Samui to 5 nights before traveling to other parts of the country. Travelers must undergo a PCR test on day 4-5.
