The opening of Thailand to tourism is becoming more and more concrete. The government wants to allow fully vaccinated people to enter the provinces of Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chiang Mai from October 1, 2021.

According to local media reports referring to Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, there should be no quarantine. The exact form is still open, because it is currently being considered whether tourists will have to stay in hotels that have a special certification. One also thinks about the fact that immigrants have to undergo a total of three rapid antigen tests within the first two weeks.

The only thing that seems fixed at the moment is that Thailand does not want to let the important winter season go downhill and is hoping for as many tourists from abroad as possible. This is why the government is struggling to determine the precise form of entry regulations. The provinces not mentioned at the beginning are to be reopened for tourism by mid-October 2021.
