"The Addams Family," a musical that has become famous all over the world from Broadway, is currently touring Germany. The top-class ensemble from DS Entertainment has already performed in a wide variety of cities. There are also shows in Fellbach near Stuttgart and in the Hilden town hall in the near future. You shouldn't wait, because the performance is worth seeing.
In the Federal Republic of Germany, musicals are usually associated with the productions of Stage Entertainment Holding. Although this is the largest provider, it does have competitors such as ATG and DS Entertainment. The latter company is owner-managed and you can tell, because Diane Lübbert is not only the owner, but also plays a leading role on stage in "The Addams Family". A production in which the boss herself shows that she is really good as a musical singer can only be a success, right?
Great performance by full-blooded artists
That's right, because the actors in the DS Entertainment production of "The Addams Family" all shine with outstanding artistic achievements. Dance, speech, singing, gangs and even audience involvement - as a viewer you can feel that there are not only real professionals on stage, but artists for whom their performances are more than just a job; it is pure passion and pure joy to offer the audience a top-class show.

An ensemble that performs in different cities within a short period of time has to constantly adapt to changing conditions in terms of infrastructure within a short period of time. Not every "hall" is ideal for musicals. Sometimes it's the structural conditions, sometimes the acoustics, and sometimes the technology could do with modernization. But on October 30, 2024, with their outstanding performances, the artists managed to impressively "cover up" the fact that the Schwabenlandhalle in Fellbach is technically suboptimal for such an elaborately produced musical. True experts in their field can simply do it, and no matter how much the technology does, that doesn't unsettle the professionals at DS Entertainment, but rather spurs them on to further top performances in order to receive absolutely deserved standing ovations from the audience at the end of the performance. This is simply real musical art made in Germany!
“I hate him” – “Well, you can count on that”
The show, which will be shown in the Schwabenlandhalle in Fellbach on October 30, 2024, is also characterized by well-considered, sometimes somewhat macabre gags. You can see that the producers have attached great importance to translating the English original into German. Hardly an opportunity is missed to lighten up what is actually a very serious topic. Even Helene Fischer's famous song "Atemlos" is given new lyrics by Grandma Addams in a very humorous way and is practically moved to the cemetery.

Father Addams takes aim at hotel reviews, because in one scene he is looking for a poorly rated hotel in Paris. He finds a minus three-star rating with no windows and no staff, and then allows himself the "macabre question of whether the hotel can guarantee that it is the worst hotel in Paris". The zombie butler repeatedly makes the audience laugh with his ultra-slow motion gags. He then surprises everyone with an impressive bass solo song.
Strong solo performances, strong finale
In general, all the actors, especially during their solo performances, showed impressive vocal performances. These would have been even better if the technology in the Schwabenlandhalle had been a little better. It is also worth mentioning that the musical "The Addams Family" develops during the show. During the first act, the audience is still a little busy trying to understand all the actions, and then after the break there is a really strong second act in which all the actors really perform at their best. In the finale, all the dancers and singers can be seen and give it their all. This was well received by the audience and resulted in well-deserved standing ovations.

“The Addams Family” will be shown again on October 31, 2024 in the Schwabenland-Halle in Fellbach. On November 2nd and 3rd, DS Entertainment will be performing this production, which is well worth seeing and recommending, in the Stadthalle Hilden. You shouldn’t miss it, because according to the current state of affairs, there will be a longer break. The production will go on tour again in October 2025. Dates will be announced in

From Broadway to the World
The Addams Family is a musical based on the famous Addams Family characters originally created by cartoonist Charles Addams. The play combines elements of typical black comedy and musical theater. The plot centers on the quirky, dark, yet lovable members of the Addams Family: Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and Grandmother, and the butler Lurch. The production focuses on the unusual dynamic within the family when teenage daughter Wednesday, known for her penchant for the macabre, falls in love with a "normal" boy, Lucas Beineke, and introduces him to his family.

Wednesday asks Gomez to keep quiet because she doesn't want to tell her mother Morticia about her engagement to avoid unnecessary drama. This leads to an inner conflict for Gomez because he wants to keep his daughter's trust, but has always had a close, honest relationship with Morticia. The meeting of the two families - the gloomy Addams and the conventional Beinekes - ends in a chaotic dinner full of misunderstandings, conflicts and comical situations. These encounters ultimately test not only the love of Wednesday and Lucas, but also the relationships within the Addams family itself.
The musical's music, written by Andrew Lippa, supports the humorous yet profound plot with lively and dark melodies that reflect the unique style of the Addams Family. The Addams Family premiered on Broadway in 2010 and has since been successfully performed around the world.
