After a three-year break, a big airport festival is taking place again on the national holiday in Innsbruck. This will take place on October 26, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 00 p.m. at Tyrol Airport.

This year the Austrian Armed Forces will be present with a number of aircraft: from the Herkules C-130, a Eurofighter, the S70 “Black Hawk” transport helicopter, the Alouette III and Agusta Bell 212 helicopters, to the Pilatus PC7 and DA40 NG training aircraft The newest helicopter in the Bundeswehr fleet, the Leonardo AW-169B “Lion”. In addition, there will be a presentation of technical equipment for airspace surveillance or a reconnaissance and target allocation radar. The Austrian armed forces are planning to carry out an overflight with Eurofighters at around 11:20 a.m.

Other exhibition highlights include the police, the Samaritan Association with a new intensive care helicopter, the aviation companies Heli Tirol, Wucher Helicopter, Mountain Soaring and Strong Wings, the aviation sports center, the Innsbruck Glider Association (ISV), the ÖAMTC, the airport fire department and the Aero Club with its model aircraft. The Flying Bulls pay a visit to the festival and all its visitors throughout the day.

There is also a lot to see in the area of ​​gliding. The ISV and the aviation sports center provide information to those interested. Furthermore, gliding can be experienced live. In addition, there will also be food, drinks and a bouncy castle in this area of ​​the airport festival. Throughout the day there will be three sailing aerobatics, three model aerobatics and three police demonstrations with the Cobra special unit on the apron. To ensure that visitors can get to Kranebitter Allee and back quickly, a shuttle bus service will be set up to the airport site on Fürstenweg.

The aviation companies Heli Tirol, Wucher Helicopter and Mountain offer various sightseeing flights throughout the day. These are chargeable and can be booked directly on site, for example. Aside from the colorful action on the apron, visitors can look forward to a wide variety of attractions in the parking spaces in front of the airport building. These include bouncy castles, giant slides, a children's carousel, a painting and craft station as well as stations for the Austrian Armed Forces, the fire department, the police with the Cobra special unit, the rescue service, the MÜG, the Samaritan Association, the ÖAMTC, the Swarco Raiders and the Innsbrucker Haie or the Geosphere Austria (formerly ZAMG), which invite you to find out more and try it out.

Innsbruck Airport offers a free shuttle bus service that runs from the DEZ and Cyta Völs shopping centers, where visitors can park for free. There is also a shuttle that runs from the main train station via Triumphpforte / Casino (Landhaus).
