The Maltese airline Corendon Europe has operated a transatlantic flight for the first time with the Boeing 737-800, which bears the registration 9H-TJC. This led from Las Palmas to Natal.

The medium-haul jet mentioned was transferred on May 23, 2022 under flight number CXI199P in five hours and 15 minutes. According to Mavio News, the carrier received the appropriate Etops approval after a complex process that was carried out in cooperation with the Maltese aviation authority CAD.

During its stay in the Caribbean, the plane completed a number of charter flights and was seen at La Romana in the Dominican Republic, at Willemstad Airport on the exotic island of Curaçao and in Mexico City. The single aisle aircraft then left Mexico City en route to Brussels. Captain Serkan Yurtay and Captain Miguel Jimenez, along with First Officers Anais Manent and Marc Pons, have made history as the first flight crew to operate a TATL flight on behalf of Corendon Europe. The flight is likely to open a new chapter for the Malta-based leisure airline as it seeks to diversify its offering in the charter market.
