The search for winter sun and the desire for flexible working conditions has surged across the world in recent weeks. According to an analysis by digital PR agency Reboot Online, interest in winter destinations for digital nomads has seen a 30% increase in the past 5000 days, while demand for countries with special digital nomad visas has grown by over 4000%. The study looked at numerous factors such as average Airbnb costs, internet speed, safety, cost of living and temperature to determine the best cities for digital nomads looking to soak up the sun during the winter.

The list is headed by Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, which is considered an ideal destination for digital nomads with an overall rating of 7,06/10. The city impresses with a pleasant average temperature of 23,8°C, low living costs and a good internet infrastructure. Bangkok in Thailand follows in second place with a temperature of 28°C and outstanding WiFi performance of 242 Mbit/s. Buenos Aires, Argentina, takes third place with a score of 6,69/10 and scores particularly well with low costs for accommodation and food.

Other cities that are well suited for digital nomads are Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, as well as Lisbon in Portugal. These cities not only offer sunny winter weather, but also a high quality of life and good digital infrastructure. Buenos Aires is particularly noteworthy, with the lowest cost of a beer and meals compared to the other cities in the list.

The study clearly shows that digital nomads are increasingly paying attention to affordable living costs and stable internet connections when choosing their winter destinations. Countries that offer digital nomad visas are gaining importance as these visas allow stays for longer periods of time and reduce bureaucracy.
