Spielwarenmesse led to increased demand at Nuremberg Airport

The traditional toy fair took place in Nuremberg last week. The increased demand has resulted in some carriers deploying larger than usual aircraft.

Turkish Airlines relies on the Airbus A330 with 289 seats instead of the usual A321 with 190 or the Boeing 737-800 with 165 seats. During the trade fair, British Airways is increasing its flights to London Heathrow from four weekly to up to three daily connections. Air France increases the frequency during the trade fair week by more than 20 percent to three to five daily connections to Paris Charles de Gaulle. Lufthansa offers four daily flights to the hub in Frankfurt for transfer passengers, including Airbus A319 and Bombardier CRJ 900.
