In the Corona year 2020 there was definitely less flown, but the number of civil aircraft registered in Austria continued to increase. In a year-on-year comparison, 3,4 percent more machines were registered in the Alpine republic.
The inventory included 1.328 powered aircraft (2019: 1.280), 236 rotary wing aircraft (2019: 219), 85 ultralight aircraft (2019: 84), 165 powered gliders (2019: 167) and, unchanged, 1 watercraft and amphibious vehicle. There were no unmanned aircraft in the reporting year. In addition, as in the previous year, 20 powered aircraft owned by the Republic of Austria (1 aircraft and 19 helicopters) were identified, according to a current analysis by Statistics Austria.

Weight class A: single engine up to 2.000 kg. |
Weight class B: single engine more than 2.000 kg to 5.700 kg. |
Weight class C: multi-engine up to 5.700 kg. |
Weight class D: single and multi-engine more than 5.700 kg to 14.000 kg. |
Weight class E: multi-engine more than 14.000 kg to 20.000 kg. |
Weight class F: multi-engine more than 20.000 kg. |
