Turkey, which is again in high demand among holidaymakers this year, has largely abolished the mask requirement. In public transport, which also includes airplanes, the mouth and nose must still be covered.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that masks will be compulsory in public transport, hospitals and similar facilities until the daily number of new infections falls below 1.000. Only then would easing in these areas be expected.
For Turkey holidaymakers, the latest changes to the mask requirement mean that the mouth and nose must be covered on board flights. For example, in airport terminals, shops, hotels or restaurants, a mask is no longer necessary.
