Despite the rising prices, the desire for summer holidays is unbroken - and the organizers are noticing that too. Tui is reacting to the persistently high demand by increasing the offer on the Mediterranean.

According to the travel group, demand is consistently above the level of 2019. There is hardly a segment or destination that is currently not in demand, they say. The well-known travel destinations on the Mediterranean are particularly in demand. Turkey in particular is in vogue: Antalya has moved up to first place ahead of Crete. This could be mainly due to the comparatively low prices there. But Greece continues to be in high demand and is currently defending first place among the most popular holiday destinations for Austrians.

According to Tui, it has therefore increased its capacity and secured sufficient capacity in the popular holiday destinations. There would still be free places around the Mediterranean. If things get tight in individual regions, additional beds should be secured. Renegotiations with the hotels would be ongoing, especially on Greek islands. Nevertheless, last-minute travelers are advised to book as soon as possible. Bookings for the months of September and October have also been rising sharply for a few days.

Recently, however, Cyprus and Egypt have also increased their bookings. The tour operator is also recording high growth rates on long-haul destinations such as the USA, the Maldives and the Dominican Republic. Despite all the difficulties caused by staff shortages in the industry, the trip will go smoothly for the majority of holidaymakers, Tui promises.
