The tour operator Tui Austria is of the opinion that there will be strong demand for hot water holidays this winter. However, bookings continue to be made at short notice.

"We are pleased that we can again offer our guests a comprehensive range in the most popular winter destinations this winter," says Gottfried Math, Managing Director at Tui Austria. "The bookings are increasing continuously and in addition to the classic Tui winter travel destinations Canary Islands and Egypt, the demand for long-distance travel continues to increase."

Holidays in the Canary Islands are particularly popular, closely followed by the Maldives and Egypt. In fourth and fifth place are Mexico and the Dominican Republic. This year Tui is offering Cancun in cooperation with Austrian Airlines as a non-stop destination from Vienna-Schwechat.

"Higher vaccination rates also lead to an increased sense of security for the customer and we feel that this has a positive effect on the bookings," says Math. It was also found that bookings pick up immediately after the lifting of government travel restrictions.
