The German tour operator Tui apparently expects that demand could be low in autumn. The travel agency employees are to be sent on short-time work again from October 2021.

The company wants to reduce work performance to 70 to 90 percent. All 400 travel agencies that are operated in Germany are affected. Franchise branches are independent entrepreneurs and are therefore not affected by the agreement with the general works council.

From the beginning of the corona pandemic until the beginning of 2021, the group had many employees on short-time work. Those who work in the travel agencies were able to leave them at the beginning of this year. Now this measure threatens again.
