Actually, the Lufthansa Group declared at the beginning of the corona pandemic that it had ended all wet lease agreements. Actually, because Helvetic Airways continues to fly for Swiss and Tuifly will soon be on the road again on behalf of Eurowings.

From March 28, 2021, two Boeing 737-800s operated by Tuifly will be deployed from Cologne / Bonn on behalf of the Lufthansa low-cost subsidiary. These are the machines with the registrations D-ABKJ and D-ABMQ. A Tui spokesman confirmed to CH-Aviation.com that the ACMI contract, which was concluded long before the pandemic, will now be continued.

The machines are to be used from Cologne to places including Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, Zurich and Klagenfurt. Furthermore, some destinations in North Africa and Europe are to be served for Eurowings. The Tui spokesman also told CH-Aviation.com that there are currently no plans to increase the number of Boeing 737-800s flying for Eurowings. A reduction was agreed with the Lufthansa subsidiary last year. Up to four Tui planes for Eurowings were in the air in summer 2020.
