The German holiday airline Tuifly is increasing its Cape Verde offer. According to Tui Germany boss Stefan Baumert, the carrier is seeing a strong increase in demand. The routes were only gradually reactivated from September 2021.

Flights to the island republic are offered from Hanover, Stuttgart, Munich, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt am Main. With the exception of Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, where there are flights twice a week, there is one round trip each week. The majority of ticket bookings are for package tours from Tui Germany.

Cape Verde has sealed itself off for a comparatively long time due to the corona pandemic. Tourism is gradually starting up again. Demand is currently high, but Omikron is also causing concern for the local government. Therefore, the further development has to be awaited. Cape Verde is considered to be particularly dependent on income from tourism.
