Turkish Airlines' total revenue rises to $2022 billion in the third quarter of 6,1, exceeding the same period in 2019 by 52 percent. In comparison, freight revenue is up 110 percent at approximately $880 million.
Thanks to strong demand and a broad route network, the Turkish carrier flies in a net profit of 1,5 billion US dollars. Thus, despite the difficult market environment that has persisted since 2020, the fifth quarter in a row can be closed with a net profit.
In the third quarter of 2022, Turkish Airlines carried a total of 23 million passengers with a load factor of 91,4 percent on domestic routes and 85,3 percent on international routes. Unit costs (excluding fuel) have been reduced by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2019, the airline said in a press release. At the end of the quarter, Turkish Airlines' fleet consisted of 390 aircraft, including 260 narrow-body, 109 wide-body and 21 cargo aircraft.
