The Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines will pause the non-stop route Salzburg-Istanbul until at least December 31, 2020. The reason for this is the low demand due to the travel and quarantine regulations as a result of the corona pandemic. The next flight on this route is planned for January 1, 2021.

Turkish Airlines suspended the connection to Salzburg shortly after the start of the Corona crisis, but returned at the end of July 2020. In the summer months there should have been good demand corresponding to the circumstances. This obviously does not apply to the autumn and winter months of 2020, which is why the route has to pause again until the end of the year. However, the carrier wants to stick to Salzburg and definitely serve the route again.
