The low-cost airline Ryanair is making a U-turn in the area of sales via GDS systems. From the end of this year, the carrier will also sell its flight tickets via Amadeus. The two companies announced a partnership on Friday.

With this, the low-coster wants to win more business travelers, because many company offices book via GDS systems in which one is currently not available. In addition, Ryanair can expand sales through travel agencies and tour operators. So far, the Irish low-cost airline has been keen that bookings should be made via its own website. Legal action has been taken repeatedly against online travel agents.

“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Amadeus, the world's leading travel technology company. It expands Ryanair's offering and gives business customers in particular better access to our unrivaled route network, high frequencies, punctuality and unbeatable low fares when working face-to-face with their colleagues again. We look forward to working with Amadeus and their efficient distribution solution and industry-leading network for years to come,” said Ryanair's Dara Brady.
