As of June 8, 2022, the Wizz Air Group had aircraft stationed at 41 airports. However, Doncaster has since been closed. The bases in Kyiv-Shuriany and Lviv also have to be “removed” because they cannot be used due to the war. The machines of the group of companies are currently stationed at 38 different airports.

With 12 aircraft, Budapest is currently Wizz Air Hungary's largest base. On July 1, 2022, the one in Bucharest will catch up, because another machine is to be used from this airport. Wizz Air UK's home base consists of eleven aircraft and is therefore only slightly smaller. That of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi consists of only four machines and is therefore on a par with Vienna-Schwechat.

The following overview is based on the most recent publications that Wizz Air has made regarding the presentation of the financial figures. This represents the data status of June 8, 2022, whereby the closure of the Doncaster base was closed and the fact that Kyiv-Zhuliany and Lviv cannot currently be used due to the war were taken into account or are listed in the notes.

I just find it very strange that WizzAir does not have a base in Slovakia or the Czech Republic, because if they are active in cities like Tuzla (111t inhabitants), Timisoara (319t), Iasi (362t) or Debrecen (200k, but birthplace of Váradi) – then the base in cities like Bratislava (475t), Košice (238t), Prague (1275t), Ostrava (280t) or Brno (379t) should also make sense? In addition, with higher purchasing power in SK,CZ than in BA, HU, RO? Or is it just the more favorable conditions that Wizz has negotiated very favorably elsewhere?
