The flight attendant union UFO demands that cabin crew be given the opportunity to vaccinate against Covid-19 as soon as possible. This is in line with the position of the European umbrella organization EurECCA.

“We are in constant contact with changing people in a very confined space. As a result, on the one hand we have a special responsibility not to spread the virus, and on the other hand we are also at particular risk ourselves, ”said UFO chairwoman Anja Bronstert. "Against the background of the hoped-for higher booking demand in the summer months, we now expect a swift offer for all colleagues who are ready to be vaccinated for our profession."

Flight attendants are currently included in group 3 of the German vaccination ordinance. This provides, among other things, that people who “work in a particularly relevant position in other institutions and companies in the critical infrastructure, in particular […] in the transport and traffic sector”, are prioritized for vaccination.
