The US low-cost airline Jetblue received formal approval from the British Civil Aviation Authority to fly from New York and Boston to London Heathrow. Another hurdle has thus been overcome.

Jetblue wants to go on long-haul routes with Airbus A2021LR machines from summer 321. First of all, you want to fly to the United Kingdom from the USA. Due to the corona pandemic, the carrier has not yet set an exact date for the first transatlantic flight. This should be communicated in the next few weeks.

According to a notice from the UK CAA, the permit granted to Jetblue is the first approval issued to a foreign airline after the UK left the EU. The Openskies Agreement between the USA and the European Union is no longer applicable.
