The United Kingdom plans to lift the ban on travel for tourist purposes on May 17, 2021. This is sticking to the plan originally announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. In the last few weeks there have been some doubts as to whether this deadline will hold up.

The daily newspapers "Telegraph" and "Times" report, citing government circles, that the repeal should be carried out on May 17, 2021. Among other things, reference is also made to the stable infection situation. The seven-day incidence is currently 24. However, UK will also introduce some rules, because it will not run without restrictions even after the deadline.

So the world should be colored in a traffic light map. If you have stayed in green countries, you must submit a negative corona test. In the case of yellow countries, a home quarantine must also be started. If you come from countries that give the UK the color red, a ten-day quarantine in a hotel is required. All costs are to be borne by the travelers themselves. It is still unclear whether there will be any relief for people who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
