The UK government put pressure on Qatar Airways and the carrier agreed not to accept bookings to the UK from South Africa, Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates. The carrier said the move was taken amid concerns from the UK government.

However, the flights will continue to operate. It is currently not possible to book connecting flights departing from the countries mentioned with Qatar Airways to the United Kingdom. The golf carrier was extremely taciturn about the reasons and referred to the Twitter statement below.
