The low-cost airline Ryanair announces the opening of a new base in Newcastle. With two Boeing 737s stationed there are to be 63 weekly flights to 19 destinations. Commissioning is scheduled for March 2022.
Among other things, the lowcoster will then take up the destinations Ibiza, Menorca, Zadar, Paphos, Chania, Bergamo, Riga, Fuerteventura, Tenerife South, Las Palmas and Krakow from the UK city. In the winter flight schedule 2021/22, there are 22 flights to seven destinations from Newcastle in the program without a stationed aircraft.
"We have seen tremendous demand for travel from Newcastle this summer as UK customers flock to the beaches of Spain and Portugal, and now customers will have much more choice next summer with these 12 new routes," said CEO Eddie Wilson.
