Low-cost airline Wizz Air plans to give a total of 100.000 free airline tickets to Ukrainians fleeing the war instigated by Russia. These can be used from Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
“Our hearts are with the Ukrainian people,” says Wizz Air CEO József Váradi. "We are committed to helping as many Ukrainian refugees as possible to get to a safe place." The airline also wants to help those who are already stranded in other places in other countries. It offers them special fares for 29,99 euros on other flights and tickets for 69,99 euros for trips to the United Arab Emirates, Iceland and the Canary Islands.
Ukrainian refugees can book these flights at https://wizzair.com/#/rescue. The 100.000 free seats and the special fares are available throughout March. Travelers must provide their Ukrainian passport or ID card upon booking and present it later upon check-in.
