A current survey has shown that around 83 percent of Austrians are planning a holiday trip this year. Compared to the previous year, readiness has increased by five percentage points. About two thirds want to travel abroad.

The analysis carried out by Corps Touristique also showed that the destinations Italy, Croatia and Germany should be particularly in demand. At a press conference, the organization also said that the surveys had shown that there was severe pandemic fatigue.

An interesting picture also emerges when looking at the reasons given by those who want to stay at home. 41 percent said that they are concerned about Corona or do not trust the "roast" with regard to further developments. At least 15 percent of those surveyed stated that they would not be able to afford a vacation trip this year. However, many did not want to reveal the reasons.

They were also asked about the means of transport to get there. The private motor vehicle was able to increase again. Even fewer people than in the previous year said that they want to go on vacation by plane. The destinations Italy, Croatia, Germany, Greece and Spain were mentioned most frequently as planned holiday destinations.
