A recent survey carried out on behalf of the Austrian television broadcaster ATV showed that 17 percent of those surveyed consider the openings announced for May 19, 2021 to be a high risk for the intensive care units. Only eight percent of Austrians should see “no risk”.
51 percent of those surveyed stated that they rate the risk as moderate. The opening is viewed critically by SPÖ voters in particular, 83 percent see a medium or high risk for the intensive care units. FPÖ voters are less critical of the opening on May 19, 2021: 36 percent see a low, 28 percent no risk for intensive care medicine.
“Ultimately, the question is: is the risk manageable? FPÖ voters should be convinced of this, because 64 percent see little or no risk. At the end of the day it's a game against time, ”says pollster Peter Hajek.
