On the San Francisco-Hawaii route, United Airlines passengers must complete a rapid corona test before departure from October 15, 2020. Initially, the new procedure will be tested on this domestic route, but could very soon be extended to the entire route network.
United Airlines is the world's first airline to announce a specific start date for the introduction of antigen tests before departure. The result should be established within 15 minutes and decide whether you can fly or not. The Lufthansa Group is also planning to use the new rapid tests. An exact date for the start has not yet been set, but CEO Carsten Spohr recently emphasized that it will take place as soon as possible. The subsidiary Austrian Airlines, which has already officially confirmed the corresponding plans, is then also affected.
