Eat like God in France - or would you rather eat like in Italy or on a Canary Island? The different aromas from maritime-spicy to fruity-sweet taste incomparably intense in an enchanting vacation spot and let you remember the dreamlike journey for a long time.

Indeed, there are travelers who base their holiday destination on the local menu. Conversely, there are also those who don't like culture, who prefer schnitzel and burgers to local offerings. What some destinations have to offer and what you should definitely try is presented below.

Papas Arrugadas con Mojo: Gran Canaria

Potatoes are not only loved dearly in Austria. An extremely delicious potato specialty is also served on Gran Canaria – one of the Spanish volcanic islands in the Canary Archipelago: papas arrugadas. The small potatoes with a fine salt crust are combined into a sauce that is a must in Canarian cuisine: mojo verde with a variety of fresh, green herbs or the fiery version mojo rojo with red peppers and chili. Both are great for dipping, preferably at a beachfront restaurant. The perfect place to taste your favorite potato with Spanish flair.

Ratatouille: Nice

Ratatouille is known to most people at least since the animated film of the same name. It's one of those dishes that embodies French coastal cuisine, with its pure ingredients and full-bodied, maritime flavors. Ratatouille has its origins in Nice and thus in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The vegetables native to the south, such as eggplant, zucchini and peppers, are cooked in a tomato sauce and finished with fragrant herbs until they have the ideal bite. French soul food that tastes ultimate delicious with a fresh baguette and a glass of chilled Provençal rosé.

Limburg Vlaai: Limburg

The Limburg fruit cake Vlaai is popular in the Dutch-Belgian region of Limburg on festive occasions such as birthdays and family celebrations – but after all, every day is a public holiday during the holiday. You can let the taste of airy yeast dough and irresistibly fruity filling melt in your mouth everywhere. You can often choose between different types of fruit such as cherries, apples or apricots. Discover the culinary delights of the Netherlands - this is a sweet delight with this popular cake specialty.

Boškarin beef: Istria

Istria is the largest peninsula on the northern Adriatic, which mostly belongs to Croatia. What spoils the taste buds luxuriously here is Boškarin beef - often braised in the traditional cast-iron pot "Peka" or served as a carpaccio. The outstanding meat quality is based on the natural way of life of the cattle, which feed on what grows on Istrian meadows - for example herbal roots that give the meat a spicy note. Anyone who chooses this delicacy should close their eyes and do nothing but enjoy.

Fregola Sarda con le arselle: Sardinia

As the name suggests, the special type of pasta Fregola Sarda comes from the Italian island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean. The adorable little noodle balls don't just look cute - they taste great too, as they are roasted for a more intense flavor before they are boiled and added to a sauce. Fregola go perfectly with “arselle” – i.e. clams: a traditional pasta dish that refines the feel-good cuisine alla nonna with fine seafood and is the perfect dinner after a day full of dolce far niente.
