The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing and its former boss Dennis Muilenburg have to pay a fine worth millions in the wake of the 737 Max debacle. They reached an agreement with the SEC, but did not admit any wrongdoing.

The authority accuses the group and the former general manager of having misled investors about the safety of the Boeing 737-Max. As a result, the manufacturer was fined $200 million. Muilenburg is asked to pay a million US dollars.

Neither the former CEO nor the company itself have admitted any wrongdoing. However, according to the SEC release, the fines were approved. This is not the first payment Boeing has had to make. Earlier last year, the Justice Department agreed to a $2,5 billion payment.
