Even at the beginning of the CoV crisis, the USA made nails and did not allow foreigners to cross the border - until today. The entry ban is not to be relaxed in the future either.

According to insiders, the United States will continue to deny Europeans and other foreigners entry to the country because of the corona virus. And this despite the fact that in many European countries the vaccination rates are higher than in the USA.

"According to the current state of knowledge with the Delta variant, the USA will adhere to the existing travel restrictions," a representative of the US Presidential Office told Reuters. At the moment, foreign nationals who have recently been in the Schengen countries, Great Britain or China are not allowed to enter the USA.

Airlines and tourism groups had campaigned for the restrictions to be lifted in recent months. The German Chancellor Angela Merkel had also spoken out in talks with US President Joe Biden during her visit to the USA in mid-July for a suspension for Europeans. The ORF reports.
