The shipping company Royal Caribbean is having a new cruise ship built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France. This will be called "Utopia of the Seas" and will be powered by gas.
The new building will be able to carry around 5.500 passengers and is expected to be handed over to Royal Caribbean International in spring 2023. It will be the second LNG vessel in this shipping company's fleet. You don't have one at the moment.
However, that will change in autumn 2023, when the Icon of the Seas will be put into service. This will be the first gas-powered cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet. However, this is not built in France, but in Finland. Manufacturer is the shipyard Meyer Turku.
