Sebastian Baumgart has been elected to the Lufthansa Cargo Supervisory Board as a representative of the “Freightdogs United” employee list.

Baumgart is the first pilot and the first member of the Cockpit Association (VC) on the panel. In future, he will represent the interests of all company employees vis-à-vis the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board. The 37-year-old flies on a Boeing 777F and has been with Lufthansa Cargo for 13 years. With Baumgart, Lufthansa Cargo has a supervisory board that knows the operational issues of ground and administrative staff as well as those of the cockpit crews from years of experience and first hand.

"I am thrilled with the election result and am very happy about the trust that my colleagues have placed in me," says Sebastian Baumgart. “I will fight for the interests of all employees, because only together can we bring our Lufthansa Cargo forward. The entire supervisory board must now ensure that the jobs in the company are also secured for the time after Corona. In return, I expect the company management to make a clear commitment to its core workforce and no longer threaten to relocate jobs and planes to subsidiaries, joint ventures or third-party providers.
