VC members wave through change of statutes

The members of the Cockpit Association have approved an amendment to the statutes that will lead to a major restructuring of the union. It is now possible for uniform collective bargaining commissions to be formed.

In the future, they will have collective bargaining responsibility for all current and future flight operations within an airline group. "This change is an important step in strengthening our negotiating position," said Stefan Herth, President of the Cockpit Association. “We can act with one voice in collective bargaining because all negotiations for all AOCs within an airline group are always conducted by the same people. Everyone involved will benefit from this. VC will now effectively counter the internal tariff competition within a group that has been created by the establishment of more and more new flight operations. It doesn’t matter how many flight operations AOCs a group divides us into: the pilots stand together and negotiate together.”
